    W. M. McFarland

He was the son of Capt. John and Rebecca McFarland. He married Eliza McFarland November 30, 1837. To them were born a son and three daughters, of whom two daughters survives. One brother, D. G. McFarland, and one sister, Mrs. Priscilla Powers, also survive him.
Mr. McFarland united with the Methodist church at Hebron under ministrations of the Venerable William J. Rutledge in 1841, and was baptized in Bear creek north of the church.
The funeral was held at Hebron church Saturday and was attended by a large concourse of friends, being conducted by Rev. W. M. Reed.
