  • Text: Joseph H. McFarland
        Joseph Hamilton McFarland was born in Green county, Ohio, February 21, 1816 and died at his home in Clayton township January 1, 1892, aged 75 years, 10 months, 11 days.
        Deceased was one of the pioneer settlers of this county, having come with his parents, Captain John and Rebecca McFarland October 8, 1832. He was married to Amanda O. Willard, December 10, 1840 with whom he lived until death claimed him, rearing a large family, Christopher Columbus, Adelia (Hughes), Wesley, Albert Hamilton, Samantha Summers (Garner), Joel Darrah, James Willard. all of whom survive him. There are also two brothers and two sisters: William M. and Daniel D. and Mrs. Rebecca A. Willard and Mrs. Priscilla Powers. ...
