    Arthur McFarland WILL

        The Last Will and Testament of Arthur McFarland late of said County deceased was presented to the court for probate and duly proven by the oaths of Daniel McIlroy and John W. McFarland the subscribing witnesses to said will, and the same is ordered to be recorded with the written affidavit of said witnesses. And thereupon Green Clay McFarland the executor named and appointed in said will personally came into open court, and took the oath required by the statute, and with Daniel McIlroy and John W. McFarland his securities whom the court accept entered into bond in the penal sum of twelve hundred dollars conditioned according to law. The Court appoint James Cunningham, Clark Lawrence, and Alexander Gain, appraisors of the personal property of said deceased.
        Which said will is as follows, towit.

        November the 1st, 1834.

        I Arthur McFarland being in a lot state of health I enact the following as my last Will and Testament in which I 1st will that all of my just debts be paid.
        2nd I give and bequeath to my wife eighty two acres of land containing the farm on which I now livealso my two grey mares one two year old filley and yearland fillay four milch cows and three calves my flock of sheep my stock of hogs my flock of geese all my household and kitchen furniture all my grain and hay one half of my wagon and gears and pattent ploughs I give this to my wife in lieu of her dower.
        3rd I give and devise to my son Greene Clay and his heirs forever fifty acres of land in the beginning corner of my survey. And I also give and bequeath to him the one half of my wagon and of saws and pattent ploughs One mare and colt and the colt with the crooked leg and one nine dollar bureau one bed and bedding one three year old heifer.
        4th I give and bequaeth to my daughter Eliza one bed and bedding and one side saddle and one yearland filley that I call ball one three year old heifer.
        5th I give and bequeath to my daughter Suffrong one bed and bedding one three year old heifer one two year old filly that I can hecknel one half in a dide saddle
        6th I give and bequeath to my daughter Sydna Mock one dollar.
        7th I give and bequeath to my son Jesse Nathan and his heirs forever eighty two acres of land the farm on which I now live to be his at his mothers death provided he shall stay at home and manage the farm so as the family can have a comfortable living if he does not the Executor shall have it in his pwer to cut him short forty one acres and divide it among the other children.
        8th I give and bequeath to my daughter Rachel one dollar.
        9th I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Jane one dollar.
        10th I give and bequeath to my daughter Matilda one dollar.
        11th I give and bequeath to my daughter Margaret Ann one dollar.
        12th I give and bequeath to my daughter Martha one dollar.
        13th I will that my executors shall sell my three grey horses and one three year old steer and appropriate the price of them to building a comfortable House out of the brick I have now burnt.
        14th I also Will that my executor shall sell my undivided right in the farm on which my father now lives when it falls into the heirs hands and divide the price and divide the price thereof among my heirs.
        15th for which purpose I appoint my son Greene Clay as Executor to execute this my Last Will and Testimony hereby revoking all former wills.

        State of Ohio Greene County Court of Common Pleas of the Term of Vovember 1834.
    Greene County ss. | Personally appeared in Open Court Daniel McIlroy and John W. McFarland being subscribing witnesses to the last will and Testament of Arthur McFarland deceased and being duly sworn depose and say that said will was subscribed by the testator and that they signed the same as witnesses in the presence of said deceased and that the testator at the time of executing the same was of full age sound mind and memory and under no restraint whatever.
