    I Rebecca McFarland of the County of Adams and State of Illinois, do make and publish this my last will and testament in the manner and form following that is to say --

    1st, It is my will that all my funeral expenses and all my just debts be fully paid.

    2. Second I give to my eldest son Wm McFarland the sum of one dollar.

    3rd I give to my second son Joseph H McFarland the sum of one dollar.

    4th I give to my son D. Benjamin McFarland the sum of one dollar.

    5th I give to my som Daniel McFarland the farm on which I now live being a part of the North East Quarter of Section thirteen In Township No. one North of the base and range Sex west of the Fourth principal meridian, and to my three daughters, Margaret Jane, Emily and Eliza McFarland, I give the privelege of keeping them home on the above described farm and each of them to be allowed to keep one horse and one cow untill such times as they shall see proper to remove elsewhere.

    6th I also direct that whatever may remain of my personal Estate after paying the debts and bequests aforesaid shall be equally divided among my five daughters Rebecca Ann Willard (wife of John Willard) Margaret McFarland, Emily McFarland Priscilla Ann Powers (wife of Archibald Power) and Eliza McFarland

    7th And Lastly I appoint my son Daniel McFarland should he be of full age (and of not such person as the Court may appoint) to be Executor of this my last will and testament, revoking and anulling all former wills by me made, and ratifying this and no other to be my last will and testament.

    In Testimony whereof I ahve hereunto set my hand and Seal this 30th day of November A. D. 1848
