Unfortunately because of the unreliability of the only source that indicates that he served in the 1812 under Capt. James Morrow, it cannot be ascertained whether it was he or his cousin of the same name who is referenced (i.e. in the same entry, the author states he married Jane Junkin, which his cousin did). There is a record of a Pvt. Arthur McFarland serving under Capt. Samuel Herrod (county unknown) in Sept/Oct 1812 and Aug 1813, and a Sergt. Arthur McFarland serving under Capt. Edmund Wade (county unkown) in Jul/Aug 1813 - note the overlapping dates - and another Sergt. Arthur McFarland from Ross Co. serving under Capt. Luther Shepard in Feb-June, Aug 1814.
