    Alpha Forsyth et al. vs. John M Layson

    To the Honorbale judge of the Adams Circuit Court

    The undersigned commissioners appointed ? October term of said court to make partition of certain lands, described in the decree of said court, a certified copy of which was furnished us, would respectfully report that in persuance of said decree, they after having taken the oath required went upon and examined the lands described in said decree, the certified copy of which ? together with the copy of said oath is here made & part of said report and - marked Exhibit A. And they made partiotion of said lands by metes and bounds, and divided the same without valuing the improvements named in said decree, and they set off to the said Alpha Forsyth Mary E Wood Eliza Mustain and Mary J. Owen out of the said five parts by metes and bounds as follows: viz The North East Quarter of section No six (6) in Township No two North and Range six West of NW 4th W. M., And they set off to the said John M Layson one of said five parts by metes and bounds is follows. viz. The North West Quarter of section No Thirtyone (31) in Township No Three North and Range One West except Eightytwo acres off the south side of said Quarter, and the West half of the North East Quarter of Section No Seven (7) in Township No Two North and Range Six West except thirty acres off the West side of said lot. And they set off to the said sarah Owen, one of said five parts by metes and bounds as follows. viz: The North West Quarter of section No three, except Eighty acres off the West side, and the East half of the south East Quarter of section No seven (7) all in Township No Two North and Ranfe six West.

    And they set off to the said William Layson Zedekiah M. Layson John Martin Layson Robert Layson Margaret Moore and America Moore, one of said five parts by metes and bounds as follows: viz. Eighty acres off the West side of the North West Quarter of Section No Three, and the East half of the North West Quarter of Section No seven (7) and thirty acres off the West side of the West half of the North East Quarter of section No seven all in Township No Two North and Range Six West.

    And the set off to the said Nancy Owen one of said five parts by metes and bounds as follows: viz. The East half of the South West Quarter of Section No Thirty, and Eightytwo acres off the south side of the North West Quarter of Section No Thirty one (31) all in Township No Three North and Range six West (in the County of Hancock) And they also after dividing said lands into five parts, as directed in said decree, proceeded and out of the fifth part of all said lands set off to the said Alpha Forsyth Mary E Wood Eliza Mustain and Mary J. Owen, set off to the said Alpha Forsyth one fourth part in value of the said fifth part allotted to the four persons last above named; by metes and bounds as follows viz. fiftytwo acres off the South ? of the West half of the said North East Quarter of section No six (6) Township Two North six West without reference to the improvements upon said land A ? ? is here made to the following plat and survey: all of which is respectfully submitted In testimony whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this tenth day of December A. D. 1853
