    CARTHAGE, ILL., September 8. - Alpha Forsythe, one of the best-known farmers of Hancock county, died yesterday, aged 74.

    An Interesting Case

    Special Dispatch to Globe-Democrat.

    CARTHAGE, ILL., January 6 - The Supreme Court of Illinois begins to-morrow morning the consideration of an interesting case appealed from the Hancock County Circuit Court. It Is the case of nancy E. Worrell et al. vs. Priscilla Forsyth. Some years ago Alpha Forsyth, a wealthy widower of Hancock County, made an ante-nupital contract with Priscilla Carrier to the effect that she should have withy acres of land and $500 as widow's award. After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Forsyth conveyed eighty acres of land to one Adams in trust for Mrs. Forsyth, and subsequently sold eighty acres of land to one Clayton McGill for $400, and Alpha Forsyth put the money in his pocket. The defense claims that the deed in trust was a gift to Mrs. Forsyth, and that she is entitled to the fulfillment of the ante-nuptial contract, and her further share is about $20,000 worth of real estate. The complainants, children of Forsyth by a former wile, say that the deed in trust to one Adams was the fulfillment the ante-nuptial contract, and that Mrs. Forsyth has received all benefits due her by virtue of said contract. The lower courts sustained Mrs. Forsyth.

    CARTHAGE, ILL., March 80.—The case of Nancy E. Worrell et al. vs. Priscilla Forsythe, which was taken on an appeal to the Supreme Court from this Circuit Court last term, has been decided in favor of the heirs of Alpha Forsythe. reversing the decision of the lower court. Property to the amount of $12,000 was in dispute, the widow now receiving but eighty acres of land and $5, as per an ante-nuptial contract. The case has been most bitterly contested throughout.
