Note
Minnie Elizabeth Humphrey was the daughter of David Henry Humphrey and Phoebe Jane Compton as she states in her biographies. She was born on December 26, 1894, at 424 South Prairie St., Galesburg, Knox County, Illinois. She was baptized in May or 1917, in Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Galesburg, Knox County, Illinois, and she died on November 12, 1990, in Barrington, Illinois. She is buried alongside her husband in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, Illinois.
Minnie attended Bateman Public School, Galesburg Grade School, and Galesburg High School Graduated where she graduated on 29 May 1913. She then attended Brown's Business College where she graduated 23 October 1914. She then worked as private stenographer for the Division Superintendent Office of the C. B. & Q. Railroad until she was married.
Minnie wrote several unpublished books about her ancestry and her family, and was the sole inspiration for the author’s involvement in his family’s history.
