  • Text: To the June term of the County Court of Bourbon County, Kentucky on the third day of June 1850.
    William Barton, John B. Rains and Abram Moore who are personally known to the members of the Court came personally into Court and having first duly sworn proved that they and each of them knew Robert Layson who removed many years since from Bourbon County State of Kentucky to the State of Louisiana or Mississippi and who is reported to have shortly since died and that said Robert Layson had but two brothers, to wit, John Layson who removed to the State of Indiana, where he is reported yet to be living. Isaac Layson who died whilst he was resident of Bourbon County aforesaid having children and heirs, William Layson, Zedekiah M. Layson, John Martin Layson, Robert W. Layson, Margaret Ann who intermarried with James M. Moore and America who intermarried with James B. Moore. And that said Robert Layson had sisters Sally who intermarried with David Pond who is reported to be dead. Nancy who intermarried with Steven Owens who is reported to be living in the State of Illinois and Margaret who intermarried with Oliver Forsythe, but who is reported to be dead having children.
    All of which is ordered to be certified to all whom it may concern.
    In testimony that the foregoing is truly copied proven the word in my office J. Thomas P. Smith Clerk of the said Court have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal of office this third day of June 1850.

    State of Kentucky and County of Bourbon:
    I, William Barton presding justice of the County Court of Bourbon County Kentucky do certify that Thomas P. Smith is Clerk of the Court and that his forgoing attestation is in due forum of law. Given under my hand and seal this third day of June 1850.
