• Text: Know all men by these presents, that we John Hogan and John Martin are held and firmly bound unto the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the just & full sum of fifty dollars: To which payment well and truly to be made we bind ourselves our heirs and firmly by these presents Sealed with our sels and dated this 2nd day of Novemb'r 1813
  
  The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas a marriage is shortly intended to be had and solemnized between the above bound John Hogan and wife Polly Martin daughter of said John Martin who personnaly appeared and gave his consent thereto: Now if there be no lawful cause to obstruct the said marriage then this recognizance to be void, or else remain in full force.

• Text: Know all men by these presents, that we Oliver Forsythe and David W Pond are held and firmly bound unto the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the just and full sum of fifty pounds, current money, to the payment of which, well & truly to be made, to the said Commonwealth, we and each of us bind ourselves, & every of our heirs, executors, and administrators jointly and severally, firmly by these presents sealed with our seals, and dated this twenty-ninth day of December one thousand eight hundred and eighteen
  
  The condition of the above obligation is such, that whereas a marriage is shortly intended to be solemnized between the above bound Oliver Forsythe and Rebecca Layson of Bourbon County. Now if there be no lawful cause to obstruct the said Marriage, then the above obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in full force.
