    Samuel Staples appeared in Court & resigned his Commision as Colo. Commandant of this Regmt. on account of bad health whereupon the Court proceeded to the appointment of a Successor and Greensville Penn was recommended to the Executive as a proper and fit person to serve as Colo. Commandant of the sd. 18th Regimt., Abrams Staples as Major of the sd. first Batalion in the room of Greensville Penn promoted, George Carter as Captain in the room of Abr. Staples promoted, Augustine Jones as Lut. in the room of Geo. Carter promoted and Danl Witt in the room of Augustine Jones promoted.
