    My Husband being abroad and I myself cannot convieniently leave Home. But I do hereby certify that William McFarland having made first to my Daughter Rebekah, to have her as his consort in matrimony, of which my husband was acquainted before he went abroad and was fully satisfied that they should be married and I myself do certify by This my hearty consent . And I am Sur with all Respect your Humble Servant

    Know all men by these presents that we William McFarland & James Wilson Junr. are held and firmly bound to the Commonwealth of Virginia in the sum of 50 pounds Current Money to which payment surely and truly to be made to the Said Commonwealth we bind ourselves our Heirs ? & admin[?] familly & & ?ally ? by these presents Sealed with our Seals this 19 Day of October 1779

    Whereas there is a Marriage Suddenly Intended to be Solemnized between the above bound William McFarland & Rebekah White Daughter of John White both of this County - The Condition of this present of legation is Such that if there be no Lawfull cause to obstruct the Same then this Obligation to be Void or elects Remain in full force & Virtue
