    Oliver A. Forsythe
    to
    Charles D. Lenox, Mortgage.

    Know all men by these presents that I, Oliver A. Forsythe of Bourbon County and State of Kentucky, do hereby in consideration of the sum of one dollar to me in hand by Charles D. Lenox of said County and State hereby assign, sell, and transfer to said Lenox, the following goods and chattles, my property now in my possession, to wit, three Beds and the furniture thereof, one horse cart and gears thereto attached, two cows, one bay mare, one sorrel mare two years old, one clock and case, one bureau twelve chairs, and two looking glasses. To Have and To Hold to said Lenox, his Executors, assigns & E upon the following Condition, to wit. That whereas the said Lenox hath heretofore executed jointly with said Forsythe, three several notes payable to Henry Bridges, one for fifty dollars, and the other two, for forty dollars each, in which said notes the said Lenox is bound as the security of said Forsythe, the said Notes being unpaid. now if the said Forsythe shall indemnify and save harmless the said Lenox against all damages and costs, by reason of his said Lenox having executed said three several promissory notes to said Bridges as aforesaid, then the above obligation shall be void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue- as witness my hand and seal, this 7th day of August, 1830

    Commonwealth of Kentucky. Bourbon County, to wit I Thomas P. Smith clerk of the County Court for the County aforesaid, do certify that this mortgage from Oliver A. Forsythe to Charles D. Lenox was produced to me in my office, on the 17th day of last month, and acknowledged by the said Forsythe to be his act and Deed Whereupon the same together with the foregoing certificate, hath been duly admitted to Record in my office- Given under my hand, this first day of September 1830
