Note
Baldwin shows his parents as Geoffrey V, Count of Anjou and Duke of Normandy, and Matilda, the daughter of Henry I, King of England as his parents. He references Book VIII of Robert of Torigny's additions to the "Gesta Normannorum Ducum" as evidence to support this. The GND was written in about 1070/1 and Robert of Torigny's additions were added in 1139. The GDN was therefore a contemporary work for this period.
