Note
Baldwin shows her parents as Henry I, King of England and Matilda of Scotland. He references Book VIII of Robert of Torigny's additions to the "Gesta Normannorum Ducum" as evidence to support this. The GND was written in about 1070/1 and Robert of Torigny's additions were added in 1139. The GDN was therefore a contemporary work for this period. For a discussion on the importance of this work, see "The Anglo-Norman Studies: Proceedings of the Battle Conference 1980", pp 106-118, "The Gesta Normannorum Ducum, A History Without End, Elisabeth, M. C. Van Houts [ http://books.google.com/books?id=nYf4GwsrIZ4C&pg=PA106 ].
