  Caleb Hewitt asst to George Peters
  
  This Indenture made the sixteenth day of December in the year Eighteen hundred and one Between Caleb Hewitt of the City of Baltimore and state of Maryland Tobacconist of the one part and George Peters of the same place Brick layer of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Caleb Hewitt for and in Consideration of the sum of four hundred and fifty Dollars current money of the United States to him in hand well and truly paid at or (before) before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is herby acknowledged Hath bargained sold assigned transferred and set over by these presents Doth bargain sell assign transfer and set over unto the said George Peters his Executors administrators and assigns all that piece or parcel of ground lying in the City of Baltimore being part of a larger piece of ground assigned to the said Caleb Hewitt by Alexander Foresyth and was originally leased by the said Alexander Forsyth, from John Eager Howard, and which is contained within the following metes and bounds courses and distances Viz't: beginning for the same on the East side of Howard Street continued and at the distance of one hundred feet north from the Intersection of said Street with Mulberry Street and running thence north binding on Howard Street continued twenty five feet thence East one Hundred and sixty seven feet to Lerew alley thence south binding on said alley twenty five feet and thence west one hundred and sixty seven feet to the place of Beginning Together with all and Singular the priviledges appurtenances and advantages to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining To have and To hold the said piece and parcel of ground as above particularily mentioned and described Together with the priviledges appurtenances and advantages to the same belonging or in any wise appurtaining unto the said George Peters his Executors administrators and assigns for and during the remainder of the term of ninety nine years granted by the original Lease now to come and unexpired with the benefit of renewment from time to time forever yielding and paying therefor yearly and every year on the first day of september the rent or sum of four pounds thirteen shillings and nine pence current money of the state of maryland cent.[?] John Eager Howard the original Lessor his heirs and assigns and the said George Peters doth covenant promise and agree that he will well and truly pay the said yearly rent or sum of four pounds thirteen shillings and nine pence current money to the said John Eager Howard his heirs and assigns on the days and time above mentioned and also that he will well and truly perform and keep all and every covenant which ought to be performed and kept by him as tenant or Lesee of the said premises (In) In witness whereof the said parties have hereto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year first above written
