Commentary
Benjamin Prindle was born after 1725 because in 1775/76 he served in the Militia which had an age range limit of between 21 and 50 years. His son David Prindle also served in the same regiment indicating that Benjamin was probably at least 39 years old in 1775/1776. His wife Hannah Marshall was born in 1725 in Greenwich, Conn., so he was probably born around the same time. Benjamin married Hannah in Greenwich about 1745. There was an earlier Benjamin Prindle who was baptized in Milford, Connecticut in 1703, and who was referred to as "Benjamin Prindle of Greenwich" in his brother's, Enos Prindle's, will of 1724. This older Benjamin Prindle died in Greenwich in 1733. It is more than likely that our subject is the older gentlemen's son.
