    PATENT TO ROBERT MCFARLAND SR. 1769

    THOMAS PENN AND RICHARD PENN, ESQUIRES

    True and Absolute Proprietaries and Governors of the Province of Pennsylvania, To all union whom there presents shall come, Greeting. Whereas in pursuance of day of January 1769 There was Surveyed unto Robert McFarland Sr. a certain Tract of Land called McFarlan's Delight Situate in Peters Township Cumberland County Beginning at a marked Hickory at Corner of James Wilkens and thereby the same South fifty two degrees and a half East One Hundred and fifty one perches to a post South Twenty four degrees East fifty four perches to a marked White Oak standing at the side of West Conecocheague Creek thence up the same One hundred and nineteen perches to a marked White Oak standing at the side of said Creek, thence by Col. Benjamin Chambers land North Six Degrees East fifty one perches to a dead White Oak standing at the side of the Conecocheague Creek thence up the same on the several Courses Two hundred and ninety six perches to a marked Chestnut Oak standing at the side of Creek, thence by James McFarland Claim <> Francis Patterson's land South forty Degrees West One Hundred and thirty four perches to the place of Beginning Containing Two hundred and forty eight Acres and a quarter <> allowance of S<...> for Roads <...> do and by the Recited Warrant of Survey remaining in our Survey for General Office of from thence Certified into our Secretaries Office appears the said Robert McFarlan Senr.

    Sum Thirty eight pounds nine Shillings
