  • Text: In the Name of God amen the Eighteenth day of June Anno: one Thousand seven hundred twenty nine I John Lomis of the Town of Windsor in the County of Hartford & Colony of Connecticut in New England being very sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God: therefore Calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, Do make & ordain this my last Will & Testament that is to say Principally and first of all I give and Recommend my Soule into the hands of God that gave it, and my body I Recommend to the Earth to be buried in decent Christian buriall at the discretion of my Executor nothing doubting but at the Generall Resurrection I shall Receive the same again by the mighty power ...

    In the name of God Amen this six day of October one thousand eight hundred & ten I Luke Loomis of East Windsor in the County of Hartford & State of Connecticut
    I being considerable advanced in years & sensible this Mortal must by & by put on Immortality yet am of sound mind & disposing memory not knowing how soon I may be called out of this World do make this my Last Will & Testament in the first I commit my soul into the hands of God who gave it & as for my Temporal Estate which God in his good providence has bestowed upon & blessed me with & Dispose of as follows Viz.
    Imprimis my Will & discourse in all my Just Debts & funeral expenses be in the first place paid by my Executor hereafter named -
    Item, I give & bequeath to my wife Experience Loomis the one half of my land Lying West of the street in sd East Windsor form sd street West to & dweling for use standing thereon Marsh Drain so calld the North Side of sd Lot and all my Land on the East Side of the Street and two cows & all my House hold forever[?] -
    Item I give & bequeath to my son Seneon Loomis on cow -
    Item I give & bequeath to my son Russell Loomis the remainder of my Land Laying West of the street so called together with my Fish place on the Island -
    Furthermore my Will & pleasure is that my Wife Experience Loomis & my son Semeon Loomis to be my Executors of & I do hereby nameth and appoint them as my Executors of my Last Will & Testament in Witness whereof & have herewith set my hand & Seal this six Day Oct'br 1810 Signd Seald and Declard to be his Last Will & Testament

    Know all Men by the Presents, That we Robert Fargo And Samuel Fox of New London in the County of New Lond are Holden and stand firnly Bound and Obliged unto Gideon Sallowhale Esq. Judge of the Court of Probate of the District of New London in the Penal sum of One Thousand Pounds Lawfule Money of said Colony : To be paid to the said Gideon Sallowhale Esq. Judge or to his certain Attorney, or Successors, in P. Office To the which Payment be well and truly made and done, we the said Robert Fargo and Samuel Fox do bind ourselves, and each of us, out Heirs, Executors, and Administrators, and each and every of them, for, and in the whole, Firmly by these Presents, Signed with out Hands, and Sealed with our Selas. Dated at New Londn: the 1st Day of June in the Second Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George 2d by the Grace of GOD of Great Britain, France and Ireland KING, Defender of the Faith, &c Annoque Domini, One Thousand, Seven Hundred and Sixty Two.

    The Condition of this Obligation is such, That if the above Bounden Robert Fargo Administrator of all and singular the Goods, Chattelsm Credits and Estate of Robert Fargo Deceased, do make, or cause to be made a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the Goods, Chattels, Credits and Estate of the said Deceased, which have, or shall come to the Hands or Possession or Knowledge of the said Robert or into the Hands or Possession of any other Personor Persons for him; and the same so made do Exhibit, or cause to be Exhibited into the Registry of the said Court of Probates in the District of New Londn at or before the Second Tues Day of July next ensuing : And the same Goods, Chattels, Credits and Estate and all other the Goods, Chattels, Credits & Estate of the said Deceased at the Time of his Death, which at any Time after shall come into the Hands or Possession of the said Robert or into the Hands or Possession of any other Person or Persons for him, do well and truly Administer according to Law. And further, Do make and cause to be made a true and just Account of his said Administration, at or before the Second Tues Day of of June 1763 ...
