    POORSTOCK DORSET

    Roger I Arundel, Domesday lord of Poorstock, was followed by Robert d. post 1135 [2]. Roger II, who followed Robert, d.s.p. 1165 [3] when his heir was his sister MAUD.

    MAUD m. Gerbert de Percy d. 1179 [4]. Gerbert left two daughters, SIBYL and ALICE, whose heirs divided the barony.

    [3] Gerbert de Percy proffered 100 m. for Roger's lands (_Pipe Poll, 11 Hen. II_, p. 65). In 1161 Roger was charged scutage on 30 knights' fees. Gerbert de Percy recorded 30 knights' fees de veteri and 1 de novo in 1166. Later scutages were charged on 30 knight's fees or on 15 for each half (_Red Book_, pp. 216-217; _Pipe Poll, 7 Hen. II_, p. 47; idem, _1 John_, pp. 241, 290; iden, _4 John_, p. 96; Pipe Roll, E. 372/68, Dors. and Som.; idem, E. 372/123, Dors. and Som.; _Fees_, pp. 424, 754).

    Robert I de Stafford, Domesday lord of Stafford, d. circa 1088 leaving Nicholas I d. circa 1138 [5]. Robert II, s. and h., d. 1177-85 and his son Robert III d.s.p. 1193-4 when his heir was his sister MILLICENT [6].

    MILLICENT m. Harvey I Bagot d. 1214. Harvey II, s. and h., took the surname Stafford and d. 1237 leaving Harvey III d.s.p. 1241 [7]. Robert IV, br. and h., d. 1261 leaving Nicholas III who came of age in 1276. He d. 1282, his son Edmund came of age in 1294 and d. 1308. Ralph, s. and h., came of age in 1323 and d. 1372 [8].

    SUDELEY GLOUCESTERSHIRE

    Ralph, second son of Dreux, Count of the French Vexin, and Godgifu, sister of Edward the Confessor, held Sudeley before the Norman Conquest. Ralph I d. 1057 leaving Harold, Domesday lord of Sudeley, who d. post 1100 [7]. John de Sudeley, s. and h., appears in the 1130 pipe roll but nothing more is known of the family until 1166, When Ralph II de Sudeley answered for the lands. Ralph II d. 1192.
