Note
Elizabeth Fuller is the daughter of John Fuller and Elizabeth Emerson. She was born April 4, 1626. In a court of August 21, 1646 Elizabeth Fuller was sentenced to be severly corrected for 'committing fornification'. She then married a few months later on January 23, 1646/7 to Thomas Upson who died July 19, 1655. They had 3 children: Hannah (b~1648), Elizabeth (b1650), and Stephen (b1653). Thomas Upson had had 2 children by his first wife in England: Mary (b1646) and Thomas (b?). After her husband died, Elizabeth married Edmund Scott, possibly in January of 1655/6. On January 24, 1665/6 Elizabeth is listed as 'alias Elizabeth Scott' (Farmington Land Records,Vol. 1, pg 46). Edmund Scott died in 1690/1. Together they probably had more children, but since Edmund Scott had previously been married, and the birth dates of his 9 children are not known, it is unclear which wife was their mother. Elizabeth and Edmund were still married on September 7, 1671, when Edmund Scott moved for the distribution of Thomas Upson's estate (Farmington Land Records, Vol. 3, pg 114). Between September 20, 1680 and June 21, 1681, Edmund Scott is referred to as the step father of Stephen Upson (Farmington Land Records, Vol. 3, pg 140).
She was not the daughter of Capt. Matthew Fuller as some have suggested. That Elizabeth Fuller married Moses Rowley in 1652, and was still married to him in 1678 when Matthew Fuller wrote his will, and was living in East Hadam in 1714 [Fuller, William Hyslop, "Genealogy of Some Descendants of Captain Matthew Fuller", 1914.]. That Elizabeth Fuller was born after 1630 and died after 1714 at 84 years of age. She had at least 10 children between 1654 and 1669.
