Note
According to Cockayne (page 207) she was the daughter of Richard Lovel. Though he does not mention who her mother was, he only lists one wife for Richard: Muriel de Soules, the daughter of John de Soules, Gaurdian of Scotland and Hawise, the sister of Sir James fitz Alan, Steward of Scotland.
According to Farmerie (page 124B), "Eleanor Lovel, daughter of Richard, Lord Lovel of Castle Cary, co.Somerset, by Alianore Stewart, daughter of Alexander and great aunt of Robert II of Scotland. (Gens. 31-34. DCNQ xviii:108-112, xxv:184-6; Vivian; Waters)"
Since Hawise Stewart is the great aunt of Robert II, is is assumes that Farmerie left off one generation, and therefore Hawise and Alianore are the same person.
