Commentary
Weis says she was the same as the Alix who was born around 1170 to Louis's 3rd wife. Her husband was born after 1178. The Chronicle of Alberic de Trois-Fontaines names "reginam Margaretam Anglie et comitissam Aaliz" as childen of King Louis VII & his second wife, specifying that Alix married "Guilelmus comes de Pontivo".' Contance died in 1160 with a daughter named Alix, however, that Alix would be too old to become the wife of William.
