Commentary
Stewart Baldwin shows his father as Robert, Archbishop or Rouen and Count of Evreux. He references Book VIII and VIII of Robert of Torigny's additions to the "Gesta Normannorum Ducum" as evidence to support this. The GND was written in about 1070/1 and Robert of Torigny's additions were added in 1139. The GDN was therefore a contemporary work for this period.
