Commentary
Weis contradicts himself in respect to Bertha of Burgundy's parentage. In Line 133, he lists Bertha as the daughter of Matilda of Burgundy, and grandaughter of Conrad I, King of Burgundy and Matilda of France (m. ca. 964). Then in Line 159, he lists Bertha as the daughter of Conrad and Matilda. In Line 136 his lists Bertha's birth as ca. 964, and in Line 157 he lists another daughter of Conrad and Matilda, Gerberga of Burgundy, born in 965. This would imply that Line 133 was in error, and Matilda of Burgundy, was not the mother of Bertha. Charles Cawley places her as the daughter of Conrad and Matilda.
