Stewart Baldwin: 'The famous Macbeth (Mac Bethad), king of Scotland, claimed descent from this Colmán in the direct male line, through his son Nechtan, but the claimed genealogy is several generations too short to be regarded as accurate. See CGH.329, which is a genealogy of Macbeth's cousin and stepson Lulach.'
