Note
A common error makes Jacob Richard Compton who was born on May 21, 1760 in Hopewell, Hunterdoon Co., NJ. and died on October 1, 1821, in Ohio the son of Isselstyne Compton & Aaltjue Blaaw (Orchie Blue). Jacob Richard Compton married Oramina (or Erminia) Hyde on June 15, 1780 Hunterdoon Co., NJ. Jacob Richard Compton however was born in 1760 where all other children of Isselstyne Compton were born in the 1720/30s and a couple in the 40s.

Note
Several (four) of my DNA connections are descendants of David Marion Hart who was born in 1835 in North Carolina and died in 1906 in Illinois. David was the father of Hettie Belle Hart, who was in turn the mother of Thomas Phillip Morlan and grandmother of Minnie Irene Morlan. I am related by DNA to children of Minnie through both her husbands (Lynn, Hughes). It is said (I have not seen proof) that David was the son of Cassandra Colista Ward and Thomas Hart.

According to Lottie Compton McDowell, "Descendants of Aquilla and Elizabeth Norris Compton", 1979 (http://freepages.rootsweb.com/~comptongenealogy/genealogy/Documentation/Lottiesbook/Lottie%20Index.htm), there was a Cassandra Ward who was the daughter of Linney (Malinda) Compton and John Ward of Orange County, North Carolina. Linney Compton was born there in 1780, married John Ward in 1809 and died there by 1856. She was the daughter of Aqullia Compton and Elizabeth Sierra Norris who came to North Carolina between 1771 and 1786 from Frederick County in Maryland. The first record of Aquilla Compton is in Prince George County, Maryland in 1742 where he signed a petition along with James and John Com(p)ton. The only record of this Cassandra Ward is found in the "Minutes of Lynches Creek Church, Book 1", where John Ward and wife, Linna, and daughter, Cassander, joined by letter June 1827.

Aquilla Compton is about the same age as Jacob Compton, and since they appear to be related by DNA, may be a brother, cousin or 2nd cousin.

These DNA connections all come from a single family tree and all include additional surnames that may instead account for the connection: Fox, French, Hall, Harris, Wheeler, however it appears that all those connections come from different or at least far more distantly related families.

As of May 17, 2022, I am not sure if these DNA connections are still valid.
